2018 Collectible Drop Spindle Ornament
For the past six years, True Creations has produced limited edition collectible drop spindle Christmas tree ornaments. This year we have selected Sapele for the whorls and Maple for the shafts. Sapele, which comes from tropical Africa.
These ornaments are approximately 3 1/2 inches long and 1 1/4 inch in diameter. Customers hang them from their Christmas trees, their spinning wheels and their car’s rear view mirrors. Some wrap colored thread or fiber to complement their decor.
They make great gifts for all your spinning friends too!

Every year I like to make drop spindle ornaments. This year’s ornament has a whorl made from Sapele which was featured in my Whorl Wood Wednesday series (#17Facebook page). It is harvested in tropical Africa. The ornament is about 1 ¼” in diameter and about 3 ½” long. Spinners like them as part of their Christmas decorations, to hang from their spinning wheels and some hang them from their rear view mirrors. Some have been known to spin some fiber on them too!
