2019 Collectible Drop Spindle Ornament

For the past seven years, True Creations has produced limited edition collectible drop spindle Christmas tree ornaments. This year we have selected Amendoim for the whorls and Maple for the shafts. Amendoim, comes from all over south America.

These ornaments are approximately 3 1/2 inches long and 1 1/4 inch in diameter. Customers hang them from their Christmas trees, their spinning wheels and their car’s rear view mirrors. Some wrap colored thread or fiber to complement their decor.

They make great gifts for all your spinning friends too!

Description

Every year I like to make drop spindle ornaments. This year’s ornament has a whorl made from Amendoim which was featured in my Whorl Wood Wednesday series (#32 Facebook page). It is harvested hardwood that is scattered throughout southern South America. The ornament is about 1 ¼” in diameter and about 3 ½” long. Spinners like them as part of their Christmas decorations, to hang from their spinning wheels and some hang them from their rear view mirrors. Some have been known to spin some fiber on them too!
