Sapele is a very dense and hard wood that comes from Africa. It has a very fine and even grain and is often called “Figured Mahogany”. It is a dense whorl wood.  This whorl is rim weighted for long spin time. At .9 oz, this spindle is a wonderful spinner and good for spinning thin fibers.
